RMM Child &Maternal Medical Center: FAQs

FAQs RM Matovu Medical Center Uganda

How many people lack basic medical care in the village of Mweruka, Uganda?

Approximately 150,000 people lack even aspirin to take for a simple head ache.

If I donate money, how much of each dollar is going to deliver medical supplies?

Currently, 100% of every dollar goes directly to our project.  We expect that a 5% administration cost will be needed for services that cannot be donated.

How is this rural community currently getting medical care?

They have to travel to the district medical center approximately 30 miles away. There is no accessible public transportion, so they must travel by bicycle or by foot and by the time they arrive at the center it has closed for the day.

What can I do to help?

You can help by donating time, money, medical supplies, knowledge and expertise.

What percentage of my donation will go directly to the medical center?

100% will go towards launching the medical center and its subsequent operation.

How do you plan to make the center sustainable?

As we are transforming our childhood home into a fully functioning medical center, we will be developing the land by planting crops and trees that will eventually be harvested, and raising animals (pigs, goats, chickens and cows). All the money we raise by selling crops and animal products will go towards sustaining the center.

How do you know this community?

I was born and raised in this community.

There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.
